Woman set afire dies from injuries
A 42-year old woman was drenched with kerosene and died from injuries . Elisa Davenport died around 5p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center. 60 percent of her body was covered in burns. Athens-Clarke police are charging her boyfriend Phillip Scruggs with murder. He attacked Ms. Davenport because she was trying to leave from an abusive relationship that they had. Scruggs set Ms. Davenport on fire at 4 a.m. Bethel Midtown Village north of downtown.
